This “close to coast” fishery for Mako shark gives us fly fisherman looking for a tug the most consistent chance at doing this year round over all the rest of our southern California fish species with prime months starting in May, June, July and returning in October up into November. I hope to one day show you this fun and exciting fishery

This trip will allow us to venture offshore San Diego and explore much farther waters depending on the season, conditions, and length of the trip. We will be seeing some sharks that will surely give you a breath-taking experience. This trip will allow for more time to find fish and sharks and more time for travel. So if you are trying to get that bucket list fish on the fly, this is the trip for you.

Cancellation Policy
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to book your trip. The 50% balance due is owed prior to departure on the day of the scheduled trip. Trips canceled due to weather will be refunded in full. Cancelations made up to 2 weeks prior to your trip will receive a full refund of the deposit paid...

Trips canceled within 2 weeks will be refunded 50% of the deposit paid and trips canceled within 7 days of your scheduled trip will not receive a refund on deposit.
Seas and Conditions
Be prepared for cool mornings on the run out to the fishery. Recommended to have some lightweight clothing to wear as the day goes on. Average sea conditions can be a little bumpy to having a heavy wind swell. Most winds are in the afternoon and the ride home can be bumpy. Be prepared for all weather conditions.

Food and Beverage
You will need to provide your own food and any beverages besides water. There will be a cooler with ice for you to add your food and beverages to. Please do not bring additional coolers due to space. You can store dry belongings in the cabin but try to minimize what you bring.

Fish Processing
Having your fish processed with a fish processor is the cleanest and best option for fish cleaning. There is fish pick-up provided and we can go direct from boat to delivery. You can pick up fish usually the next day or have it mailed to you if you are traveling.

If you are subject to seasickness or are not sure, please take precautions ahead of time. There are no refunds due to early returns or cancelations due to seas sickness.

Fishing License/Permit Info
1. Valid California fishing license is required for EVERY passenger whether fishing or not. Please have the license in hand prior to arriving at the meeting area. California license can be purchased online prior to the scheduled date.

2. A Mexican Fishing Permit is required for fishing Coronado Islands and south of the border. Mexican Fishing Permit can be purchased online prior to the scheduled date. Please check with the captain prior to the trip to see if needed.
Tackle/Rods
All tackle and rods are included in the price of the charter. 1 scoop of live bait is provided and additional can be purchased at $35 per scoop. If you are bringing your own equipment please let Capt. Mark knows prior to the trip so he can make room and make sure you're bringing the right gear.
